LADSO ANNOUNCES A CAPITAL CAMPAIGN
HELP SUPPORT OUR SEASON AND OUR EMERGING PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS!
The Los Angeles Doctors Symphony Orchestra announces a capital campaign to raise $7,500 that will enable us to present the world’s greatest music for our 64th consecutive season in 2016-17. A collaboration with the renowned Orange County Friendship Choir kicks off our 2016-17 season in November with two performances of Johannes Brahms’s Ein deutsches Requiem (The German Requiem).
Despite our name, it is not necessary to be a member of the medical profession to play in the orchestra. The orchestra has broadened its membership to include musicians with diverse backgrounds including the legal profession, science, and education. In this sense we consider ourselves a true community orchestra.
If we require added depth to our collective voice, we supplement our volunteer orchestra with emerging professional musicians, giving them the opportunity to showcase their talents, inspire our serious amateurs, and enhance the quality of our performances. Many of these musicians go on to successful professional careers and we are proud to have played a role in their development.
It is costly to present sophisticated programs and hire emerging professional musicians. Our concerts are usually free or of modest cost to the public. Your contributions, in any amount, will help LADSO continue to bring the kind of innovative programming and quality that our audiences have come to expect and enjoy. Please pass the word to friends and families and invite them to contribute as well.
